Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Autumn Houses

This landscape scroll painting holds the autumn houses theme the way a good poem holds its subject: lightly, and completely. The strokes vary from whisper to declaration, keeping the eye moving. It belongs with the best of chinese landscape wall art, the sort that settles into a room from day one.

High in the scroll, the red sun burns quietly. Autumn colors the scene, warm against the ink's cool restraint. The waterfall's descent gives the picture its movement and its music. Mountains fill the background like a held chord in music. Mist gathers between the ridges, softening everything it touches. The trees appears as a small pleasure of the composition, easily missed and worth finding. The birds adds a quiet accent, handled in the old manner of the brush. Here the houses takes its place in the composition's larger rhythm. Tiny boats dot the river, each one a few strokes of the brush.

It keeps good company with the finest feng shui home decor, the kind that rewards daily looking. Let it hang where morning light can find it; the silk will thank you. Give it wall space and it will repay the attention.
