Winter Landscape Chinese Scroll Painting – Silk Wall Art – Blue-Green Mountains Red Leaves

This winter landscape scroll painting holds the blue-green mountains red leaves theme the way a good poem holds its subject: lightly, and completely. Empty space does as much talking as the brush does, a classical habit this piece keeps. For shoppers browsing chinese painting for home decor, this one hits the familiar notes without a hint of fuss.

A broad river opens the composition, giving the mountains room to breathe. Painted with an easy, practiced brush, the houses feels observed rather than invented. Bands of mist cross the composition, separating near from far. Painted with an easy, practiced brush, the red leaves feels observed rather than invented. Foam and falling water are suggested with a few decisive strokes. Drawn with economical strokes, the pine trees keeps the scene grounded and honest. The blue-green mountains settles naturally into the scene, balanced against the larger forms. Color is laid on with a generous hand, giving the scene a festive warmth.

For a home leaning toward oriental wall hanging, this scroll is a natural fit. It will sit comfortably beside other Asian art, or carry a wall on its own. Lightweight and easy to wrap, it travels well as a gift.
